  6. thanks- I had a virus software installed I deleted it but my computer still says there is a conflict with the old deleted software even though I deleted the trash too. Im not able to get online on that computer because of this conflict, is there any way it has left remnant pieces of its software on my computer? Ive searched for the name and the only thing left was a keychain which I also deleted. im still having trouble. Is there any way to do a command via terminal to find any thing left from that old virus software?

  9. This is simplistic and does not remove all the files from an App.

    Do this:

Open finder (Admin tab) and type the name of the program in the search bar. In the bar underneath that, hit the "+" button. Then change the "kind" option to "system files" and the "aren't included" to "are included".  Then hit the plus button again and change the "kind" option to "name" and leave the "matches" option as it is.  Type the name of the program in the box next to that and you will be left with all the application's files. Make sure that the files there are definitely related to the App (programme) that you are trying to delete. Drag them all to the trash and empty the trash.
This will get rid of all your application's files.

  10. Putting it on "Trash" doesnt do much; i tried uninstalling google chrome, although i put it on the "trash" it stilled appeared on the downloads and works??

  13. I'm not so sure this removes all the files created by an app.  For example, I downloaded a personal finance app with free trial, created some test accounts, then deleted using the second method shown.   Couple weeks later, I decided I wanted to do some more testing.  Downloaded and installed the app again and when I open it, it displayed the test files I had created last time.  Did the same with another finance app, but when I opened it after the second install, it said 'your trial period has expired'.  So clearly,  there is some remnant that knows the the app was previously installed and when.  Comments?
