This tutorial teaches you how to disable the backup feature on windows or mac.

Mac- Terminal
defaults write com.apple.iTunes AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

Windows- Run
%CommonProgramFiles%AppleMobile Device Supportbindefaults.exe write com.apple.iTunes AutomaticDeviceBackupsDisabled -bool true

  1. Thank you worked 🙂 I had to stop it because of jailbreak… I jailbroke my phone but I restored my iPhone when it wasn't jail broken and It back it's self up when it was still jailbroken and fucked it all up.. So I had to re-jailbreak my phone 🙁

  2. I was wondering what was the code to allow backups again on OSX. I stopped the backups when I was on 1.1.4 and I want to update to 2.1.1 but it I'll have to wipe the memory which I don't want to do. The music and movies came from multiple computers. When I try backing up it pops up with a dialogue saying there's an error (-50).
    Please Help
